YOUR FUTURE IN ISRAEL STARTS HERE.
What role will Israel play in your future?
For a lot of students, the plan is a gap year and then back home.
But there are more paths than that, and most students never hear about them. We're a free service that helps you understand your options and navigate the process.
No costs. No obligations. No applications.
YOU HAVE MORE OPTIONS
A GAP YEAR DOESN'T HAVE TO END WITH A GAP
A year in Israel is usually treated as a pause before real life starts. It doesn't have to be. Esti went for the year and found a whole set of options nobody had told her about, and she is still there.
Most students find those options by accident, halfway through. You can find them on purpose instead, before you go or while you're there.
"I spent a gap year in Israel after high school. During my year there, I was learning about many different options, and I called my parents and said, "I think I want to stay".
There were so many options available to me - Seminary, College, National service. That's what I wanted to do."
Esti Troodler, Philadelphia, PA
Nobody hands you a map for this.
In the US the path is drawn for you. Visits, applications, acceptance, and a fairly predictable line from there. Israel opens up instead. A gap year can lead into national service, or into a degree, or into both in whichever order suits your child.
That range is the opportunity. It is also why most families want someone to think it through with, and it is exactly what The Future is Calling is here to do - lay out the paths clearly and help you find the one that fits.

Sara deferred her place at an American university and went to study at Bar Ilan. Asked whether there was enough guidance to help her decide, her answer was no.
That's where we come in.
YOUR future
in Israel
starts here
Schedule a conversation with someone who knows the Israeli system, start to finish. No costs, no obligations, no applications.
You've got
questions,
we've got
answers
The practical ones, answered here.
The rest we're happy to answer in your initial conversation.
It's a conversation, not a screening. You'll speak with someone who knows the Israeli system directly. They'll ask about your child's high school grade level, what they're drawn to, and what you're wondering about, and you'll leave with a clear picture of the paths that fit and a sense of the next step. Nothing to sign, nothing to pay.
Yes. Students come to us as early as freshman year and as late as senior year, and there's a path for each - an immersive year in Israel, a gap year, national service, or a degree. The earlier the conversation, the more options stay open.
Yes. The Future is Calling is a free service from the Tzemach David Educational Foundation. Our advice, programming, and services cost nothing - there's no fee to talk with us, explore your options, or find the right path. The universities and programs you ultimately choose have their own costs, which we help you understand and plan for.
We're focused on helping students and families discover all the educational pathways they have to choose from when defining how Israel fits into their future - from a first immersive year through university and service.
That's the most common place to start, and it's early enough to matter. A conversation now commits you to nothing - it's how staudents figure out which questions to ask next and which paths are worth a closer look.
Not to begin. Many programs are built for English speakers, others combine English and Hebrew, and there's language support - including Ulpan - to help students grow into it. How much Hebrew matters depends on the path, which is one of the first things we sort out with you.
This is the question we're asked most, and it deserves a real conversation rather than a paragraph. Our partner campuses and programs have established support and community structures, and students are part of a community that looks out for them. We'd rather talk through your specific concerns directly than offer reassurance from a website.
Still wondering about something specific?
