Asher / TAU

“This past year has been the most amazing in my life.” – Asher Dayanim, USA

Coming from Philadelphia, Asher immersed himself in Tel Aviv’s vibrant mix of cultures and ideas while studying at Tel Aviv University. He describes the city as a classroom in itself, alive with diversity, dialogue, and opportunities to learn beyond the lecture hall. Between rigorous coursework and the friendships he formed across backgrounds, his time in Israel gave him both an education and a perspective he couldn’t have found anywhere else

Joel / Technion

“It’s the most special culture, the most special combination and diversity that we have here.” – Joel Gutovitz, USA

Originally from Kansas, Joel pursued his medical studies at the Technion’s Rappaport Faculty of Medicine in Haifa. Surrounded by Hebrew, Russian, Arabic, and English, he found himself immersed in one of the most diverse environments he had ever known. Between late-night walks by the Mediterranean, playing basketball with peers from both Israeli and American programs, and rigorous medical training, Joel discovered a community and cultural richness that shaped both his personal and professional journey.

Avigail / JCT

“The religious aspect of JCT makes us unique… it allows us to continue our growth while being surrounded by a supportive community.” – Avigile Barron, USA

Originally from the Five Towns, Avigile chose JCT for its strong religious environment and English-speaking program. Now in her third year studying business, she says the college equips her with real-world skills — from interviewing to career preparation — while also giving her the comfort of a supportive community of fellow olim and international students from across the globe. For Avigile, JCT is not just about academics, but about friendships, religious growth, and a vibrant campus life that will stay with her long after graduation.

RACHEL / BGU

“My favorite BGU moment was when I went from just being an International Student to being an Israeli BGU Student” – Rachel Gur-Arie, Phoenix, AZ

Rachel Gur-Arie, from Phoenix, Arizona, chose Ben Gurion University of the Negev to earn her Ph.D. in Health Sciences.  She coordinated month-long global public health seminar in Israel for 25-30 students from India, Africa, China, and the United States and developed a fully online summer course in Global Health

AvA /TAU

"The liberal arts program at TAU is the only one like it in Israel... it allows me to explore everything from psychology to Jewish Studies while living in the city I fell in love with." – Ava Schwartz, USA

Originally from New Jersey, Ava came to Israel at 17 for a gap year program, planning to return home for university. Instead, she discovered Tel Aviv University's unique Liberal Arts program — the only comprehensive liberal arts degree in Israel. At TAU, she's embraced a program that lets her study psychology, philosophy, Jewish Studies, and Middle Eastern Studies without having to commit to a single career track. For Ava, TAU isn't just about specialized education, but about falling in love with Tel Aviv itself and building a life in a city that captured her heart.
